3 day Spring Smoothie Cleanse

It’s no secret that juice cleanses aren’t necessarily everyone’s BFF, but with that being said we will easily get onboard with a smoothie cleanse. Plus, smoothies make us feel like we’re sipping on milkshakes and that’s never a bad thing. Follow this awesome cleanse, and try to remember, you can do anything for three days...

Why do a three day smoothie cleanse? 

To give the body a chance to restore, and to provide an ample amount of nutrients to the body when doing so.

Tips for a Smoothie Cleanse

Even though the smoothie is blended, it is still wise to consume them slowly.

Chewing is still required in order to promote digestive enzymes and therefore should not be skipped.

Stay hydrated and drink lots of water in between smoothies. Drinking water will help with detoxification. A minimum of 2 litres per day is recommended. Try not to consume water during smoothie times as this can dilute the strength of the digestive enzymes.

Besides an occasional cup of herbal tea, restrict all other beverages except water.

Breakfast

Strawberry Mint Smoothie

  • 8 soaked cashews
  • ½ cup sliced fresh strawberries chopped small
  • 6 mint leaves
  • 200ml water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Health Connection Berry Beetroot

Blend well. Add more of the above ingredients if desired.

Lunch

Green Ginger Smoothie

  • 1 leaf of spinach chopped or 8 leaves of baby spinach
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 inch ginger, peeled & chopped small
  • 3 slices of cucumber chopped small
  • ½ green apple or kiwi fruit chopped small
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 200ml water
  • Health Connection Leafy Greens

Blend well. Add more of the above ingredients if desired.

 

Dinner

Cream Dream Smoothie

  • 1/3 avocado
  • 1 leaf of spinach or 8 leaves of baby spinach 
  • chopped 
  • 3 brazil nuts chopped or ground small
  • 1/3 cup pink grapefruit chopped small
  • 1/3 cup chopped mango chopped small
  • 1/3 cup fresh raspberries chopped small
  • Peeled ginger chopped small ( Quantity you like )
  • Cut some rind of grapefruit– if you don’t like bitter flavors, do not add grapefruit
  • 200ml coconut water or water
  • Health Connection cacao maca

Blend well. Add more of the above ingredients if desired.

*This recipe will work perfectly with a 350ml380ml400ml and 500ml Vitamer.
